Circuit training explained
A circuit is an exercise cluster that contains repeated short-to-long bouts of high-intensity exercise with intervals of recovery, which we refer to as high-intensity interval training (HIIT). Circuits can be performed in an unlimited number of ways, with varying work-to-rest ratios and training intensities. You will see circuits described on the Biolayne Workout Builder as both cardiovascular-type training programs as well as hypertrophy-based training programs.
For example:
- Exercise 1 - Set 1
- 30 secs rest
- Exercise 2 - Set 1
- 30 secs rest
- Exercise 3 - Set 1
- 30 secs rest
- ...etc
